Internet: Storybook Coverpage

Your Storybook Coverpage. For the Week 4 Internet assignment, you will be publishing your Storybook Coverpage. This is the "point of no return" as it were, when you must decide what web publishing software you want to use for the semester. Once you send me the address of your Storybook Coverpage, that address MUST NOT CHANGE for the rest of the semester: I will be using this address to view and read your Storybook, and so will all the other students in class - so the address needs to stay the same for the rest of the semester.

Of course, you can change your Storybook Coverpage contents and design as much as you want (in fact, you will be changing the coverpage each time you add a new story, adding a link to that story) - but you need to make sure that while you change the contents of the Coverpage, the address stays the same.

Coverpage Requirements. Your Storybook Coverpage should meet the following requirements:

  • the title of your Storybook should be prominently displayed
  • you should have an image related to the theme of your Storybook, with image information
  • your name should appear on the page
  • optional: you might want to link to the homepage and/or the "about me" page that you created earlier this semester

You can browse through previous Storybooks to look at some of the coverpages people have designed in the past.

Here are the instructions for completing this assignment, based on which web publishing software you will be using.

GOOGLESITES. If you are doing to use GoogleSites, you need to create a NEW SITE in order to build your Storybook. So, go back to these instructions: GoogleSite Homepage - and make sure you start with the NEW SITE button, creating a whole new site for your Storybook. The Homepage you create now will be the Coverpage of your Storybook. You need to give your new site a name that reflects your Storybook topic (for example, "Robin Hood Tales"). You will probably want to choose a nice color scheme theme for your new GoogleSite. Make sure that your Coverpage displays the title of your Storybook, and that you have a good image, along with image information.

COMPOSER. If you are doing to use Composer, you need to create a new page for your Storybook Coverpage. So, go back to these instructions: Creating a Composer Webpage. Make sure that your Coverpage displays the title of your Storybook, and that you have a good image, along with image information.

OTHER SOFTWARE. Make sure that your Coverpage displays the title of your Storybook, and that you have a good image, along with image information.

When you are done, send the address for your Storybook Coverpage to the instructor in an email with the subject line: Week 4 Coverpage. Then, do the Gradebook Declaration. Here is the text of the Gradebook Declaration you will complete:

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

I have published a Storybook Coverpage which contains the Storybook title, along with my name, plus an image and image information. I have sent the address of my Coverpage to the instructor in an email.
