Technology Tips: Google Calendar

You have already seen the Google Calendar for this class displayed in Desire2Learn. You can "subscribe" to this Google Calendar, and combine it with your own personal Google Calendar. You can also choose to have notifications by email or cellphone to remind you about events and due dates.

Log on. When you log on to Gmail, you will see a link to Google Calendar - or you can go directly to Calendar.Google.com, and log in with your Gmail username.

Subscribe to calendar. To learn how to subscribe to a Google Calendar that someone else has created, read these instructions for Managing Google Calendars. You need to subscribe to the Google Calendar for the class you are enrolled in, so that the class calendar shows up in your list of Calendars. You can access the Google Calendar for your class in Desire2Learn, or you can access the calendar by following these links: Myth-Folklore Calendar, Indian Epics Calendar, World Lit Calendar.

Screenshot. When you are done, take a screenshot of your Google Calendar page, which has "My Calendars" in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. (sample screenshot), and send the screenshot image file to me as an email attachment. Make sure you use this subject line: TechTip Google Calendar.

When you have sent in the email, you can do the Gradebook Declaration for Extra Credit. Here is the text of the Gradebook Declaration you will complete:

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

I have completed the Technology Tip assignment and sent the instructor an email as required.
