Technology Tips: Create a Google Personalized Homepage

For this week's assignment, you will create a personalized Google homepage - also known as iGoogle. When you have a personalized iGoogle homepage, it means that when you go to Google.com, instead of seeing a basically blank screen, you will see a screen that has various information, services, games and entertainment of your choice.

Step One: Log in to Gmail. Your Gmail account gives you access to all of Google's free services, including iGoogle.

Step Two: Go to iGoogle. To get to iGoogle, just go to Google.com, and then click on the iGoogle link in the upper-right hand corner of the screen. You can do all kinds of things here - add content, change the theme - and you can even add additional "tabs" if you find lots of content you want to add. Here's what my iGoogle looks like - I've got a clock, a moon clock, quick access to my Gmail, and some search tools. (I used to have some games on there, but I played them too much, ha ha.)

Step Three: Screenshot. To get credit for this Tech Tip, take a screenshot showing your iGoogle homepage (see instructions for screenshots if you are not sure how to do that), and send the screenshot as an attachment to me in an email. Make sure you use this subject line for the email: TechTip iGoogle.

When you have sent in the email, you can do the Gradebook Declaration for Extra Credit. Here is the text of the Gradebook Declaration you will complete:

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

I have completed the Technology Tip assignment and sent the instructor an email as required.
