This assignment will show you how to cite Image Information, which is required for any images you use in your blog posts and webpages for this class. The assignment has two parts:
STEP ONE: READ THE GUIDELINES. Please read through these Image Information Guidelines. You need to pay special attention to the red items at the bottom of the page. After you have read through this information carefully, you are ready to take the quiz! Also, I would strongly - STRONGLY - suggest that you do this Technology Tip about Using Google Images, just so you are 100% clear on the difference between an image file and a webpage.
STEP TWO: IMAGE INFORMATION QUIZ. In Desire2Learn, you will find an Image Information quiz. When you take the quiz, you will see five images chosen at random from the question pool, each with Image Information. Something is WRONG with the Image Information each time. You need to figure out what is wrong for each item.
Note about taking this quiz: Sometimes you will be able to see what is wrong right away; other times, you may need to click on the Web Source link to see if there is something wrong with the link. When you click on the Web Source link, the link will open in a new browser window (or in a new tab, depending on your browser preferences). You can safely close the item after it opens. If you accidentally close the Desire2Learn quiz window, don't worry! Desire2Learn does not grade your quiz until after you hit the Submit button, so you can just take the quiz again if you accidentally close the quiz window.
Review the results carefully! After you are done, you will see the CORRECT answers to the questions. Normally on quizzes for this class, I do not reveal the answers to the quiz because they are knowledge questions. This quiz is different: the goal here is to teach you a skill, and it important that you master this skill before you go on to your next assignment. So, if you got the answers to any questions wrong, please review the correct answers before you take the quiz again.
Please take the quiz again until you get a score of 80% or better. If you are having trouble, make sure you read through the Image Information Guidelines again more carefully (you might print out a copy to look at during the quiz). You can take the quiz up to five times; the average of your attempts will be the grade recorded in the Gradebook.
Here's a sample question so that you will know what to expect on the quiz:
