The Last Sentence

The last sentence is probably the most important sentence of your story, even more than the first sentence. You've got to give the reader a sense of conclusion while also giving them something to take away with them. So, just as you do some extra work on the first sentence of the story, do some extra work on that last sentence, too. Work on getting just the right tone, and choose every word carefully.
