Myth-Folklore Reading: Weeks 7 and 9

You will be moving on from the Middle Eastern and Indian readings to something new: STORIES FROM ASIA AND AFRICA (including African-American stories). Because Week 8 is a review week with no new reading, that means you will be choosing from the Asian and African stories in Week 7 and then again in Week 9.

Reading Notes posts. Hopefully your Reading Notes are giving you what you need for the storytelling each week. Have you ben trying different notetaking strategies each week to expand your range of notetaking options? Remember: the goal is to read like a writer so that every week when you go to write your story, you have good materials to help you get started writing right away.

Do you need some extra points?
It's around the middle of the semester now, and if you are not on track for the grade you want in this class, you can do some extra credit assignments to make up those missing points, and the Myth-Folklore Extra Credit Reading option is a great way to do that. In addition to stories you can read, there are lots of fabulous Crash Course Mythology videos you can watch, taking notes on those videos just like you would take notes on stories you are reading.
