Paragraphs

Paragraphs are a powerful tool to focus and direct your readers' attention. Think carefully about just where to start and stop each paragraph, and pay attention to the first and last sentence of each paragraph so that you can see the logical transition from one paragraph to the next.

Remember that when you are writing for the Internet, shorter paragraphs are preferable to longer paragraphs. The formatting for paragraphs is also different when you are writing for a web publication. Instead of a single line return and a tab indentation as you would use for a printed paper, on a webpage you should use a double line return in-between each paragraph, and no tab indentation.
