Week 11 Assignments

We're into the final weeks of the semester! As of this week, there are just 4 weeks (Weeks 11-12-13-14) plus Dead Week (Week 15) left in this semester, and it's good to have your plan in place for finishing up the semester, especially if your goal is to finish early. If you are aiming for an A, you should have around 290 points at the start of Week 11. For more details, see this Progress Chart.

If you are not where you want to be with points, do some Extra Credit this week. You can also use extra credit points to get closer to your goal and end up finishing the class early! For more advice about extra credit and about finishing the class early, check out this page of advice from last semester's students: Advice from Past Students

READING

Click on the link for your class:

Here are the Notes guidelines plus all the different Reading Notes Strategies to experiment with. The semester gets more and more busy in these final weeks, so remember to optimize your notes to make them useful for storytelling: not too short, and not too long. Taking good notes is the best way to jumpstart your storytelling assignment each week.

Tuesday due date: READING (first half)

** Because OU has called this a "wellness day" for 2021, you can wait and do this reading on Wednesday if you prefer; you'll see the due date is extended in Canvas (I had already planned the Week 5 and Week 10 breaks in this class before OU announced their calendar; more info: Week 5 and Week 10 breaks).

4 points  appx. 1-2 hours
Wednesday due date: READING (second half) 4 points  appx. 1-2 hours

STORYTELLING

Thursday due date: STORYTELLING

4 points  appx. 1 hour

Here are the assignment guidelines: Week 11 Storytelling. For those of you who are aiming to finish up the class early, this might be your last storytelling post, so make it a good one!

PROJECT - FEEDBACK - COMMENTS

Here are the final assignments for the week:

PROJECT

8 points  appx. 60-90 min.

Check for the last email you received from me about your project; you will find the link you need for this week's assignment in that email. If you need me to send you the email again, just let me know! To see the project assignments for the whole semester, visit the Project Overview page.

For those of you who are turning in a new story this week, keep in mind that this is your next-to-last story, as there will only be time for one more story (Week 13 or Week 14) before the end of the semester. So, especially if you are doing a Storybook with an overall narrative arc, you need to make sure you will be able to complete the story arc with this story and the final story to come.

PROJECT FEEDBACK 6 points 45 min. - 1 hour

Here is the assignment for Week 11: Project Feedback.

BLOG COMMENTS 4 points 30 min. - 45 min.

For the Blog Comments you will see stories from Week 9 and Week 10, plus some Week 11 stories. All the stories from Week 7 and earlier should have gotten at least two comments, but if you notice a story in your blog from Week 7 or earlier which did not get two comments, let me know, and I'll put it back in the randomizer. :-).
