Projects: Adding New Pages to Google Sites

After you have created your Google Site, you can start adding pages to the site. If you are doing a Storybook, the first page you will add is your Introduction page. If you are doing a Portfolio, the first page that you will add will contain your first story.

Add a Page. Click on Pages at the top of the right-hand menu; this will display all the pages in your site. Click the Plus-Page icon to add a new page.

Page Name (NOT Title). Try to use a short, simple name for the new page. This is not the page title; it is the name that appears in the automatic navigation. You can use a longer title for the page; choose a short name that will work well in the site navigation. For example, if this is your Storybook Introduction page, you could use "Intro" as the page name, while using "Introduction" as the actual page title. You can change your mind about that later; just click on the three-button menu to the right of the page name in the page panel and give it a new name:

Page Title. You type the page title in the banner box, and you can change this title anytime that you want. You are typing inside a textbox here, and just like with any textbox at Google Sites, you can use the handles to resize and reposition the box. You can change the title anytime.

Banner Options. You can have a simple banner with the page title only, or you can choose a banner image, larger or small. Here is more information about Google Sites Images.

Page Body. Down in the body of the page, you will use the right-hand menu to insert content. Mostly you will be inserting text boxes and images, but you might also try some embedding, like embedding a YouTube video or a SoundCloud audio file.

I hope that is enough information to get you started adding content to your site, and if you have any questions, let me know.
