Tech Tip: Embed Google Map in Blog Post
Google Maps are so cool, and they are available for places all over the world! For this Tech Tip, you will learn how to embed a Google Map in one of your blog posts.
Just type in Google Maps and the place you are interested in, like Ayodhya, India (the birthplace of Rama in the Ramayana). You will get a long (LONG) URL that displays the map; you can link to that URL to see the map: Ayodhya India.
To embed the map in a blog post, just click on the Share icon, and then choose the "Embed Map" tab. I'd recommend choosing a custom size of 400 pixels wide for a blog post, but you can decide what will work best, based on your blog design. You can click and get a preview of the size you have chosen. Then, you need to copy and paste the iframe code that Google supplies.

You need to paste that into your blog post, but you need to do that in the HTML view, not the regular WYSIWYG view. The HTML view is an option at the far left end of the edit bar; by default, you are in Compose view, but you can switch to HTML view

That can be a little intimidating to look at, but there's a trick you can use to find your place inside the HTML view: just go to a blog post, type whatever you want to say about the map and why you created it. Then, type "MAP HERE" or something like that, and switch to the HTML view. Use Control-F to find the phrase MAP HERE and then you can then replace the phrase MAP HERE with the code you have copied from Google Maps, and the result should look something like this:

Finishing Up: If the map shows up in your blog post, you are done! Make sure to include the phrase "Tech Tip: Google Map" in your blog post title and also use "Tech Tip" as the label on the post; then you can do the Declaration.
