WRITING | Story Title - First Sentence - Last Sentence - Paragraphs

The First Sentence

What can you do to pull your reader in to the story from the very first sentence? After you finish writing a story, it really pays to go back to the beginning and spend some time massaging that first sentence. When you have finished writing your story, you will probably have some really good ideas about how to get the story started - even if you were not sure about that at first. So, don't worry about the first sentence as you draft your story, but when you are done, go back and work hard on that first sentence.
