Ning: Create A Ning
The Ning that we are using for class is what is called a "social networking site," which means that it is a place where people can connect and interact online. In class, we are using the blogging feature of Ning. In addition to blogs, Ning also has discussion board forums, photo sharing and video sharing, along with many other features. Even better: Ning is free! You can create a Ning for your family, for a study group, for a club or organization that you are part of, etc. For this Technology Tip assignment, you will create a Ning of your own.
STEP ONE: Create your Ning. To create a Ning, just go to Ning.com. You will be prompted to give a name to your Ning, and to select a Ning address, depending on availability (since there are thousands and thousands of Nings, you may have to be creative in choosing the name of the address). When you are done, click Create. You can choose to make your Ning PUBLIC or PRIVATE. You will then be prompted to add a tagline and description of your Ning. When you are done, click Next. You can choose to Add Features now (or do that later), and choose the Appearance theme (or you can do that later). When you are done, click Launch. You now have a Ning! To change the features or appearance of your Ning, just click on the Manage button. You will find great tips in the Ning Help pages.

STEP TWO: Send me a Ning screenshot. Since you might be keeping your Ning private, you need to send me a screenshot of your Ning. Here are the instructions for taking a screenshot. Make sure you use this subject line for the email: TechTip My New Ning.
When you have sent in the email, you can do the Gradebook Declaration for Extra Credit. Here is the text of the Gradebook Declaration you will complete:
