Technology Tips: Create a PollDaddy.com Poll

Poll Daddy is a free service that allows you to add an interactive, dynamic web poll to your webpages. For this assignment, you will create a Poll Daddy poll and send it to me in the email. If you want, you can also link to the poll from your blog, or include the poll in one of your Storybook webpages (see below).

STEP ONE: Create Poll. Follow these instructions to create your PollDaddy.com poll.

STEP TWO: Get HTML direct link address. When you are done, get the http: address of your poll using the Direct Link Method. Here is one way to get the direct link address. After you log on to PollDaddy.com, you can choose Polls: List Polls to see the polls you have created.

Click on List Polls, and you will see the poll(s) you have created. To get the HTML code for that poll, just click on Options, and choose Get HTML Code.

Then from the various options, choose Direct Link Method (in the right-hand column). This will cause the address you need to appear in the colored box in the left-hand column. That is the address you need to send me; it should look something like this: http://www.polldaddy.com/p/25593/ - and this is also the address you can use to link to your poll from any webpage or blog post.

STEP THREE: Send me the address. Please send me the direct address to your poll in an email. Make sure you use this subject line for the email: TechTip PollDaddy.

When you have sent in the email, you can do the Gradebook Declaration for Extra Credit. Here is the text of the Gradebook Declaration you will complete:

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

I have completed the Technology Tip assignment and sent the instructor an email as required.
