Composer: Internet Assignment

For this Internet assignment, you will create a website in your OU webspace using Composer. This website will have a Homepage along with an additional "About Me" page. You should already have Activate OU Webspace and Install Mozilla Seamonkey back in Week One.

STEP ONE: Follow these instructions to Create and Publish an OU Webpage with Composer. You will probably also want to consult these instructions for adding Links and Images to your page. When you are done, your page should contain text, at least one link, and at least one image with image information. If you want this page to replace the default OU homepage, make sure you use this filename: home.html (if you use any other filename, it will not replace the default homepage).

STEP TWO: Check to make sure your webpage is published. To do that, just add your filename to your OU search directory. For example, my search directory address is:

http://faculty-staff.ou.edu/G/Laura.K.Gibbs-1/

So, if I publish a file named home.html, then it will have this address:

http://faculty-staff.ou.edu/G/Laura.K.Gibbs-1/home.html

Do not go on to Step Three until you have found the webpage you have published in Step One. If you are having trouble finding your webpage, let me know and I will help you troubleshoot whatever problem you might be running into.

STEP THREE: Create and publish another webpage following the instructions above. This is your "About Me" page, where you can include information about yourself, your major, your interests and hobbies, etc. - whatever you feel like including. Make sure this page also contains text, at least one link and at least one image with image information. You also need to create a link from this page to your homepage. After you publish this page, check and make sure that it is online in your OU directory.

STEP FOUR: Open your homepage in Composer and create a link from the homepage to your "About Me" page. Publish this page, and then check to make sure the link is working correctly. You should now be able to click from your homepage to your About Me page, and to click from your About Me page back to your homepage. The assignment is complete when you have both pages published, and all the links are working!

When you are done, send the address for your OU homepage to the instructor in an email with the appropriate subject line: Week 2 Internet Composer OR Week 3 Internet Composer. Then, do the Gradebook Declaration. Here is the text of the Gradebook Declaration you will complete:

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

I have used Composer to publish a homepage in my OU webspace, along with an "About Me" page. Each page contains text, at least one link and at least one image, with image information. I have sent the instructor an email containing the address of my OU homepage.
