Tech Tip: Embed Your Padlet in a Blog Post

To do this Tech Tip, you need to have created a Padlet first; that's a Tech Tip of its own (and remember, you can do as many Tech Tips at once as you want; all those future week Declaration are available in Canvas). Then, you can embed that Padlet in a blog post.

There are two good reasons to embed your Padlet in a blog post:

SHARE. Embedding the Padlet in your blog is a fun way to share your Padlet with others.

ACCESS. This gives you instant access to your Padlet in the blog; you can click the pink add button right there to add new items.

For this Tech Tip, you will embed the Padlet you created in a blog post. You can see what looks like here: My Hanuman Padlet Embedded.

It's a very straightforward process: you get the HTML code from Padlet, and then you paste that into your blog:

1. GET PADLET CODE. Go to your Padlet at Padlet.com. Then, click on the SHARE link in the upper right-hand corner. Then, click on the Share/Export/Embed panel. Choose "Embed" from the list of options below, and you should see this block of code appear:

2. COPY-AND-PASTE CODE. Now in a different browser tab, go to your blog and create a new post.

For the title use Tech Tip: My Padlet Embedded.

For the labels, use Tech Tip, and the Week, and also use Padlet as a label. That will make it easy for you to find your Padlet from anywhere in your blog.

Then -- and this is the crucial step! -- click on the HTML option (next to the Compose option). That will cause the editing menu to appear. You are going to copy-and-paste the Padlet code into this box:

3. CHECK RESULTS. To see if it worked, switch from the HTML view to the Compose view. You should see your Padlet! Go ahead and click Publish. You're all done. You have a live Padlet in your blog!

Finish up: Blog. If the blog post containing your Padlet looks good, you are ready to do the Tech Tip Declaration in Canvas.
