Tech Tip: YouTube Playlist Embedded

So, now you've got a playlist (YouTube Playlist Tech Tip), and for this tip you will embed the playlist in a blog post or in your blog sidebar.

Here's how that works:

EMBED IN A BLOG POST. Go to the YouTube Playlist page for your playlist and click on the share icon (it's arrow-shaped).

Then, copy the iframe code, which will look something like this:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/videoseries?list=PLrWYQjLLbXcie5DuhgxacocxvQp_5pNIX" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Next, go to your blog and create a new post. You need to switch to the HTML view, so click on HTML in the upper left-hand side of the editing bar, and then paste in the iframe code. Depending on your blog layout, you will probably want to change the width from 560 to 400 and the height from 315 to 225. When you are done, click on Compose to go back to the normal Compose view. You can add more text, links, etc.

EMBED IN A BLOG SIDEBAR

You should be familiar with the Tech Tip for adding an HTML widget to your sidebar. Follow the steps above for adding the playlist to a blog post, but instead of pasting the iframe code into a blog post, you will paste it into an HTML sidebar box, changing the width to "200" and the height to "120" as you can see here; click Save when done.

Finishing up. To finish up, publish a blog post: that can be the blog post with your embedded playlist OR it can be a post telling us to look for the playlist in your blog sidebar. Make sure to include the phrase "Tech Tip: YouTube Playlist Embedded" in your blog post title and also use "Tech Tip" as the label on the post; then you can do the Declaration!
