Ning: Ning Invitation

The Invitation link. To get the Ning Invitation Code Link, go to Desire2Learn and look in the center column. You will see the Ning Invitation Code Link displayed there. Click on the link to begin creating your Ning account.

Creating your account. After you click on the Invitation Code Link, you will then be taken to a Ning sign-up screen.You will need to enter your email address and password and answer the spam question to create your Ning account. You can enter any email address you want, but make sure it is a valid email address; if you forget your Ning password, Ning will use this email address to send you a reminder. 

Approval. Because the Ning is private for our class only, I will need to approve your Ning account. I will try to do that as quickly as possible. You will get an email from Ning letting you know that you are ready to go!

Log in to Ning. After your account has been approved, go to the Ning - http://oumyth.ning.com - and log in with the email address and password you have chosen.  

Removing the Welcome Box. When you first view the Homepage of your Ning community, you may see a big Welcome Box that prompts you about some of the features available at your Ning. To remove this box, just click on the small X in the upper right-hand corner of the green box, and the prompt will no longer appear.

Creating your profile. Click on the link that says "My Page" and fill out your profiel page. Please enter your first name AND last name. If you use a nickname, please use that nickname here - this is where you will be getting to know the other students in the class, so you should enter the name that people will know you by.
