GoogleSites: Good Links and Bad Links

A good link has nice, clear link text for the user to click on:

University of Oklahoma.

A bad link is computer code displayed on the page which does not tell your user where the link goes:

http://www.ou.edu.

You need to make sure that you follow these steps to create good links on your webpages:

1. Type text. Type the text that will be the clickable part of the link.

2. Highlight. Highlight the text.

3. Link. Click on the Link icon in the editing toolbar.

4. Web. Choose "Web Address" as your link option.

5. Paste in address. Paste in the address of the webpage you want to link to.

6. Optional: You can check the box down at the bottom to open the link in a new tab.

7. OK. Click OK to create the link.
