GoogleSites: Choosing a Template/Theme

There are many templates (themes) you can choose from to use in your GoogleSite. You can make changes to your choice of the template at any time, without having to redo your pages. For this tip, you will select a Google Site theme to use, and then write up a blog post with a link to your newly themed site.

STEP ONE: Manage Site. Go to GoogleSites, and click on the site you created. This will take you to your Homepage for that site. Click on the Gear icon (More Actions) in the upper right-hand corner, and then choose Manage Site.

STEP TWO:  Choose theme. Select Themes-Colors-Fonts from the options in the left-hand column. You can see a Base Themes dropdown that gives you access to the standard themes that you chose from when you created your site, and you can also browse through the MANY themes that GoogleSites has available by clicking on the Browse More Themes button in the upper right-hand corner. When you have found one you like, choose it and then save.

Build a Theme. If you want to build your own theme, start with a theme you like, and then use the options to change the page background color, use a background image, etc.  (Make sure you also change the font colors so that they will be visible on the background colors you have chosen.)
