Adding A Temporary Administrator to a Blog or Website

With both Blogger and Google Sites, it is easy to add me as a temporary administrator to your blog or website if you run into a technical problem that you are having trouble fixing on your own. Especially if a problem is hard to document or explain via the email, adding me temporarily as an admin may be the easiest way to find the solution. 

Blogger

1. Go to your Blogger blog, and click Design in the upper right-hand corner to access the Settings.

2. Click on the Settings link in the left-hand menu; the sharing options are on the Basic Settings tab.

3. In the permissions area, click where it says "+Add Authors."

4. In the pop-up box, enter my Google address: laurakgibbs@gmail.com

5. That will send an invitation for me to become an author. I will accept that invitation. Then, after I accept, you can come back to this same screen and change my permissions to "Admin," which is what will allow me to work on any technical problem you are experiencing with your blog.

6. After the problem is fixed, I will remove myself as an admin.

Google Sites

1. Go to your site and click on the "gear" icon in the upper right-hand corner to access the settings options.

2. Choose Manage Site.

3. Click on Sharing and Permissions in the left-hand menu.

4. In the "Invite People" box enter my Google address: laurakgibbs@gmail.com

5. Using the dropdown menu, select "Is Owner."

6. Click "send" to send the invitation.

7. After the problem is fixed, you will need to remove me as an "owner" of your site by coming back to this same page and removing me.
