Tech Tip: Following at Twitter
There are two ways that you can connect with someone at Twitter: you can follow a Twitter account, which means that the tweets from that person/organization will show up on your Twitter "home" page, and/or you can put the person in a list, which means their tweets will show up when you look at that list. I personally do all my Twitter viewing through lists, but that's just a personal preference.
For this tip, you will learn how to follow an account at Twitter, and then in another tip you can learn how to create and use Twitter lists.
STEP ONE: Log on to Twitter. You can view Twitter without being logged on, but in order to follow people, you need to be logged in to your account.
STEP TWO. Find an account (or accounts!) to follow. There are lots of ways you can find someone to follow. You can use the Twitter search to look for a name or a keyword and then see the results, for example. You might also see Twitter accounts listed at the webpages or blogs you visit online. If you want to find some University-of-Oklahoma-related programs or people, you can find them here at these lists: OU People - OU Programs.
STEP THREE. Follow! When you find an account you want to follow, just click on the Follow button! If you are looking at a tweet, just click on the person's name or their avatar icon, and that will take you to their Twitter page; you will see the follow icon there:
STEP FOUR. Blog. After you have followed at least one new Twitter account (and follow as many as you want of course!), you can write up a blog post about the account(s) you are following and why you chose them.
To finish up, make sure to include the phrase "Tech Tip: Twitter Follow" in your blog post title and use "Tech Tip" as the label on the post; then you can do the Declaration.
