Known Profile

Each user at our group OnlineMythIndia Known gets a profile page of their own. For example, here is my profile page: it has profile information at the top, and then my own posts (only my posts, not other people's posts) on down below:

For this tip, please fill out your Known profile page with as much or as little information as you want.

STEP ONE. Log on at Known. Start by logging in to your account at OnlineMythIndia Known. Then, click on Profile in the menu bar along the top of the page, and then click the Edit Profile button. You'll see that you can upload an avatar image, say a few words about yourself, and then type any website address you want to include. For example, you might include the address of your blog for this class! Feel free to use whatever kind of image avatar you prefer: a personal photo, a cartoon, an abstract design — it's all good! Click Save Changes when you are done.

Note: For detailed information, see the Beginner's Guide to Known: Profiles.

STEP TWO. View your profile page. You can see the results by going to your profile page again. To see what it looks like to others, you can copy-and-paste the URL into a browser where you are not logged in to Known (you see the Edit Profile button, but that's only because you are logged in to your Known account).

STEP THREE. Blog. To finish up, create a blog post at your class blog and link to your Known profile there. Also, include your avatar image in this post and say a few words about that: why this image? is it one you use on other social media sites? It's always intriguing to find out how and why people choose the avatar images that they do! (You may have noticed that I always use a fox of some kind as my avatar; that is because the fox is the trickster hero of Aesop's fables... and in both Latin and Greek the fox is a "she" - vulpes in Latin, ἀλώπηξ in Greek).

Make sure to include the phrase "Tech Tip: Known Profile" in your blog post title and also use "Tech Tip" as the label on the post; then you can do the Declaration.
