Known Blog Post with Image

Since you are familiar with uploading and inserting images into your Blogger posts, you'll find it easy to do that also in your Known posts, and you'll probably like how Known gives you more precise control over the image size than you have at Blogger! For this tip, you'll add a blog post to your Known account which includes an image that you upload.

STEP ONE: Find an image. Start by finding the image you want to share. It might be an image you find at Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons, or maybe it is something from a Pinterest Board (in which case cilck on the pin to go to the ORIGINAL page where the image is found), or maybe it is something you saw at one of our class webspaces like Indian Epics Images or Growth Mindset. Just find an image you want to share!

STEP TWO: Log in at Known. In a new browser tab, log in OnlineMythIndia Known, and then click to create a new blog post (that is the center icon of the five icons).

STEP THREE: Compose blog post. Type a title for your post and add a few words explaining why you chose this image. Provide a link to the source where you found the image online along with any pertinent image information, such as the name of the creator of the image if available. You also need to type the hashtag for the class you are in: #OU3043 for Myth-Folklore or #OU4993 for Indian Epics. Hit return a couple of times to create a blank space in which to position your image. Then, click on the image icon on the editing bar. You'll see a dialogue box to walk you through uploading the image:

You'll be prompted to select an image to upload, and then you'll see a preview, and you can also choose to adjust the size. If the image is more than 600 pixels wide, it would be a good idea to change the width, so just type in the width you want and the height will be adjusted automatically (that's what "constrain proportions" means). When you finish, you should see the image displayed in the post editing window. Publish when you are done!

STEP FOUR: View Known post page. Click on the time/date stamp at the bottom of the post to go to the specific Known post page. For example, here is the Known post I wrote about a skiapod image: Skiapods and Squirrels

STEP FIVE: Post in your class blog. To finish up this tip, create a blog post over at your class blog and include a link to this post. What do you think about the Known blogging experience compared to Blogger? I like them both, although they are very different. I'm curious to know what you will think as you get to use both Known and Blogger more and see how they work!

Make sure to include the phrase "Tech Tip: Known Post" in your blog post title and also use "Tech Tip" as the label on the post; then you can do the Declaration.
