Spring 2019: Storybooks and Portfolios
Here's where we are so far in the process:
Week 2: BRAINSTORM TOPICS. Everyone has completed this assignment.
Week 3: TOPIC RESEARCH. Everyone has completed this assignment.
Week 4: THE BIG DECISION. This week you will decide whether you want to go with a Storybook or a Portfolio! Here are some questions to help you decide: Storybook OR Portfolio. Then, based on your choice, you will start the Storybook process (green column below) or the Portfolio process (yellow column below). If you are having any doubts about which way to go, let me know, and I'll be glad to answer any questions you have — just let me know!

Week 4 (or 5): Create Site / Make a Plan. You will create a site and do some additional planning and research. Here are the instructions step by step.
Week 5: You will publish your Introduction, or if your topic is such that a story can be the Introduction, then for Week 5 you will publish a Story. (If you are one week off schedule, this will be your Week 6 assignment.)
Week 6: You'll be doing Introduction Revisions. or Story Revisions depending on what you did with the Week 5 assignment. You might also do a second week of revisions in Week 7.
The rest of the semester will alternate between Adding a Story and Revising. Whether you do one or two weeks of revising each time depends on whether you want to have three stories or four stories total in your Storybook.

Week 4 (or 5): Create a Site / Publish a Story. You will create a site and publish your first Portfolio story. Here are the instructions step by step. First you will create a site, and then you will add your first story page to the site.
Weeks 5-6. After you get comments back from me, you will revise: Portfolio Revisions. (The revision process is spread out over two weeks.)
Then, for the rest of the semester you will keep on Adding a Story and then Revising for two weeks as you did for the first story. That means you will end up with a total of four stories in your Portfolio.
